Getting to know you

After all the ANGST from yesterday, I figured it was time for something fun. So I have shamelessly stolen the following from Laura.

Do you have any strange phobias? I'm totally squicked out by missing fingers.

Do you sleep with or without clothes on? On. Naked isn't really my thing.

If you are outside, what are you most likely doing? Wishing I were inside.

Simple but extremely complex. Favorite band? This one is tough. Historically, I have to go with Counting Crows. Currently, perhaps Seether. Or maybe Shinedown. 

Do you believe in karma? Not really. 

Who is your celebrity crush? Colin Ferrell. Yum. 

What’s a sound you hate; sound you love? Hate:  teeth grinding. Love: baby giggles.

Choose: East Coast or West Coast? East, but somewhere south-ish so I don't get the snow.

What was the last book you read? The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver.

Do you like the smell of gasoline? The fumes, yes. The actual liquid (like when it gets on your hands), no.

Do you have any nicknames? Em. Nothing exciting. Sometimes Emster to my law school friends.

What was the last movie you saw? Thomas and Friends' Misty Island Rescue. I don't remember the last grown up movie I watched.

What’s the worst injury you’ve ever had? It's more congenital than injury, but I'm going with my butt problems.

What’s the last thing you purchased? I bought lunch for a friend yesterday.

Can you touch your nose with your tongue? Ummm...looks like I can't.

Is there anything pink within 10 feet of you? Yes, my Kindle case.

What’s your favorite animal? I'm not really an animal person, but I've always had a soft spot for manatees. Related, I hate horses and dolphins. No idea why. 

What were you doing last night at 12 AM? Dorking around on the internet instead of sleeping, I would guess.  

What’s a song that always makes you happy when you hear it? "I'm Not Alright" by Shinedown

What is the single best decision you have made in your life so far? You know, it's way easier to think of the (ten or so) single worst decision I've made. Maybe the best was reaching out for help when my life depended on it.

What’s the last song you listened to? I think it was "High Road" by Three Days Grace.

What is your current desktop picture? A picture of the boys from this past summer.  

You accidentally eat some radioactive vegetables. They were good, and what’s even cooler is that they endow you with the super-power of your choice! What is that power? I have to agree with Laura's mind reading.  

You can re-live any point of time in your life. The time-span can only be a half-hour, though. What half-hour of your past would you like to experience again? I think any random half-hour from college would suffice.

You just got a free plane ticket to anywhere. You have to depart right now. Where are you gonna go? I would head to some island in the Caribbean all by myself.

(I'm adding one because I've been thinking about it today.) What's your favorite baby name you'll never get to use? Mine is Maeve. I've been intriuged by it ever since I first read about Maeve Binchy on Swistle's blog. It was a character name on Criminal Minds last season and a few weeks ago and hearing it so often made me fall in love. Then I learned today that it means "intoxicating." That sealed it. Now I just need to buy a cat/fish/plant/decorative statue I can call Maeve so I can get my fix.
